Welcome to
Birchwood Community
High School
I am absolutely delighted and privileged to be the Headteacher of Birchwood Community High School. As a school, we understand young people only get one chance to experience school-life and our aim is very simple: to support them to grow into confident and independent learners with high aspirations, a love of learning and strong community values.

👏 Year 10 Mock Interview Day – Thank You! 👔💼![]()
A huge well done to our Year 10 students who took part in yesterday’s mock interview day – you all looked incredibly smart and conducted yourselves with professionalism, confidence, and maturity.![]()
We’re so grateful to the many interviewers who gave up their time to support our students, sharing valuable advice and insights from a wide range of industries.![]()
One of our volunteers, John Hewitt, shared this fantastic feedback on LinkedIn:![]()
"I volunteered at a High School yesterday and it blew my mind!!
What would your 14-year-old self have said when asked 'what career you would like to pursue?'
I took part in a careers day at Birchwood Community High School where I got to interview Year 10 pupils (thanks to Warrington Chamber).
I was blown away by their ability to articulate their many strengths but also be self-aware enough to identify elements that need to be improved upon.
One pupil walked 45 minutes to get to school, as well as having x2 part-time jobs and starting his own online business. Another pupil talked passionately about following in the footsteps of her footballing inspirational female role model.
I asked one pupil if they used ChatGPT to help them with their CV – he looked at me with intrigue and said 'absolutely not!'
I was reassured – with such an inspirational few hours spent in school, the future looks bright! Well done teachers and well done Year 10!"![]()
Thank you again to all who contributed to a truly inspiring day.![]()
