Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG)
The College IAG service aims to put you at the centre of its activities. As a student you can access information, advice and guidance through a structured tutorial programme. Our aims are to promote academic achievement, personal and social development and to help individual students build confidence and self esteem.
Careers Advice
All students have regular one to one tutorials. These are used to review performance and progress, discuss any additional help you may feel you need, extra-curricular and enrichment activities and to help with UCAS applications, job seeking and volunteering opportunities. It also gives you a chance to raise any concerns or issues that you may have in a safe environment.
Health and Welfare
You can access support on a range of issues relating to your health and welfare, for example, healthy eating and staying safe. We have excellent links with local agencies which support young people and their families.
Equal Opportunities
We are proud of the rich and diverse staff and student culture which exists at Birchwood College, and we want you to feel part of this and make your own unique contribution. We are committed to creating a stimulating and supportive environment based on mutual respect and trust which enables everyone to realise their full
potential.
Child Protection
In line with national guidelines we have a safeguarding policy, a copy of which can be found here.
